We are now performing Telemedicine visits for weight loss for Alabama and Georgia residents!
The pricing for the weight loss telemedicine visits is the same as our in-office visits. Visits can be scheduled by contacting Kim at 334-209-1061.
Telemedicine visits require payment at the time of scheduling your visit. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. The visit can be rescheduled, if needed, with at least a 24-hour notice. All cancellations after 24 hours will forfeit the payment made.
During your weight loss telemedicine visit, we are only able to prescribe non-controlled medications (Semaglutide/Tirzepatide) to assist with weight loss. *Controlled medications, such as Adipex (Phenterimine) require monthly in-office visits.
Once your telemedicine visit is complete, we can send a prescription to the local pharmacy, ship your Semaglutide/Tirzepatide injections via UPS express service, or they can be picked up at our office.
Your shipment will be sent in an insulated shipping box with an ice pack to keep your medications cool. We can ship your Semaglutide/Tirzepatide injections or Lipo injections for $25 via 2-day UPS shipping.
If you prefer for someone to pick up your Semaglutide/Tirzepatide from our office, they will need to contact our office and set up a pickup time, to ensure we are in the office. They must bring a valid picture ID and will have to sign for the medication. Your medication needs to be refrigerated. We recommend that they bring a small cooler with ice to keep the medication cool.
We are not responsible for any medications once they have been picked up, signed for, and have left the office.
Tirzepatide Injections
Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in Zepbound® (FDA-approved for chronic weight management) and Mounjaro® (FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes but sometimes prescribed off-label for weight loss).
It’s approved for adults with:
-
Obesity (BMI ≥ 30), or
-
Overweight (BMI ≥ 27) with at least one weight-related condition (e.g., high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes).
Compounded tirzepatide contains the same active ingredient but is not FDA-approved. It may be considered when customized dosing or ingredient adjustments are needed.
Tirzepatide is a dual receptor agonist that works on the following receptors:
-
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor: This receptor is involved in regulating blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin secretion and inhibiting glucagon release.
-
Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor: This receptor also contributes to insulin secretion and plays a role in regulating appetite and body weight.
By activating both receptors, tirzepatide enhances insulin secretion, reduces glucagon release, and promotes weight loss. It is a novel and potent treatment for type 2 diabetes that has shown significant efficacy in improving glycemic control and reducing body weight.
Dosing Schedule for Tirzepatide
Tirzepatide is taken once a week by subcutaneous injection with prefilled syringes.
Month 1: 2.5 mg weekly
Month 2: 5 mg weekly
Month 3: 7.5 mg weekly
Month 4: 10 mg weekly
Month 5: 12.5 mg weekly
Month 6+: 15 mg weekly (maintenance dose for many, but not all, patients)
Our recommendation is to continue with the lowest effective dose which is reducing your appetite and food cravings. Continue with that dosing until you feel you need to increase the dosing due to ineffectiveness. This reduces the out-of-pocket cost as well as side effects which are most common when the dosing is increased. If the current dosing is effective, there is no benefit and increasing the dose if your appetite is currently suppressed. Higher dosing does not necessarily equal increased weight loss.
How It's Taken
Tirzepatide is injected under the skin (subcutaneously in the abdomen or thigh).
-
Brand-name versions (Zepbound®, Mounjaro®) come in single-use prefilled pens.
-
Compounded forms often come in prefilled syringes.
Rotating injection sites can help reduce irritation.
Missed Dose Guidance
-
If your next scheduled dose is more than 4 days away → take the missed dose as soon as you remember.
-
If it’s less than 4 days away → skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time.
Common Side Effects
Most side effects are gastrointestinal, especially during dose increases:
-
Nausea
-
Vomiting
-
Diarrhea or constipation
-
Stomach pain or bloating
-
Indigestion
These symptoms usually improve after the body adjusts. In some cases, anti-nausea medication (like ondansetron) can be prescribed if needed.
For Best Results
Tirzepatide should be combined with a keto diet, regular exercise, proper hydration, and good sleep. While medication can help control appetite and reduce cravings, long-term weight management is most successful when long term diet and lifestyle changes are made.

Semaglutide Injections
What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide analogue, is a powerful injectable medicine that is widely used to manage type 2 diabetes and obesity. This is the peptide/active ingredient in the brand name medications Wegovy and Ozempic. The potential results of semaglutide treatment for weight loss can be attractive to many people who struggle with diet and exercise. However, it is important to be aware that semaglutide is not the answer for everyone.
Semaglutide is a treatment for people who struggle with serious, chronic weight management challenges. First isolated as an effective diabetes drug, this insulin-boosting medication is also available to patients who need to lose a significant amount of weight in a consistent way and achieve long-term weight loss.
Despite its relatively new application as a powerful weight loss drug, semaglutide is a well-researched substance by way of its use for diabetes treatment. It has already been prescribed for several years as an injectable medicine for the improved management of glycemic control. The FDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) more recently approved semaglutide as a prescription weight loss aid. Its approval has already improved the lives of chronically overweight patients.
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 (glucagon-like-peptide-1) receptor agonist suitable for overweight and obese people who are committed to shedding a significant amount of weight and do not have other significant underlying health issues. Semaglutide is not a miracle cure or a gimmick supplement. It is a long-acting prescription medicine designed to be used over an extended period of several months or more.
Semaglutide injections are not an appropriate treatment for people who only need to lose a small amount of weight or have a body mass index (BMI) of 27 or less. It is also not appropriate for those who are looking for an “instant” or short-term weight loss fix.
Understanding Semaglutide for Weight Loss
Semaglutide is in a class of medications called glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) agonists. GLP-1 agonists work by stimulating your pancreas to increase insulin. This additional insulin causes the stomach to empty over a longer period. This slow and consistent digestion is merely an early step in the chain reaction that makes semaglutide such an effective weight-loss drug.
When your stomach takes more time to empty itself of food, it sends signals of “fullness” to the brain. This signal is sent throughout a larger portion of your day, even if you’re eating less food than usual. The result of this process is a powerful appetite suppression effect based on the patient’s own natural insulin production. This means patients using semaglutide can benefit from medically assisted weight loss without any need for invasive surgery.
Semaglutide can also lead to healthier blood sugar levels, which can help a patient feel more energetic throughout the day. Stabilized and controlled blood sugar levels can also help improve other areas of your overall health. Even if you aren’t at risk for diabetes, this effect can contribute to a general sense of well-being, which is a crucial component in any weight loss journey.
How does Semaglutide work?
- Have a BMI of 30 or higher.
- Have struggled to lose weight despite making healthy eating and activity changes.
- Experience frequent or constant food cravings.
- Suffer from Diabetes, Insulin Resistance, or PCOS.
- Struggle to break the emotional ties to eating.
You may be a good candidate for Semaglutide if any of these describes you:
